Expert Insight

Why We Recommend the Elkay ERPBM28K

The Elkay ERPBM28K SwirlFlo drinking fountain combines refrigerated performance, accessible bi-level service and architectural stainless steel styling in a coordinated installation package. Its contoured oval basins provide a splash-resistant drinking surface, while the one-piece back panel and one-piece louver panel eliminate distracting seams for a clean, finished appearance.

A hermetically sealed refrigeration system supplies chilled drinking water, and mechanical push-button activation provides straightforward, dependable operation. The fountains can continue dispensing water during an electrical service interruption as long as the building’s water supply remains available, although active refrigeration will stop until power is restored. Flexi-Guard bubblers feature flexible antimicrobial mouth guards designed to help protect users from injury and inhibit microorganism growth on treated components.

Installation Advantage: The ERPBM28K includes the mounting frame needed to support the bi-level fountain installation. Review the manufacturer’s dimensional information before construction so the frame, plumbing, drainage and electrical service can be positioned correctly.

Best Applications

The ERPBM28K is well suited for schools, offices, healthcare facilities, civic buildings and other indoor locations that want chilled water from a visually refined bi-level fixture. When installed at the manufacturer-specified mounting heights with the required clear floor space and reach ranges, the fountain supports an ADA-compliant installation.

Quick Tip

This model is supplied without water filtration. Add the optional EWF172 WaterSentry VII filtration kit or choose the filtered Elkay LRPBM28K counterpart when integrated filtration is preferred. The optional LKAPR1 cane apron, 97446C vandal-resistant bubbler kit and 98501C Stream Saver Flexi-Guard bubbler can address specific accessibility, security or water-use requirements.

Common Question

Is the mounting frame included with the Elkay ERPBM28K?
Yes. The ERPBM28K configuration includes the mounting frame, helping simplify coordination of the wall support and rough-in. Filtration and the listed optional accessories are not included and must be selected separately when required.
